The white-haired merman

Set during the Joseon era, in the island village of Nanyang, which is far from Hanyang. In this isolated coastal community, Cheong-ok encounters Baeki, who is regarded as the White Merman and is kept imprisoned in a temple for eternity. When Cheong-ok uncovers the dreadful secret that the village elders have perpetrated against Baeki, she attempts to save him but is unsuccessful, resulting in severe repercussions for her entire family. Luckily, Cheong-ok survives and escapes from Nanyang, biding her time to seek revenge for her family and rescue Baeki. Years later, now an adult, she makes her way back to Nanyang and stealthily enters the temple where Baeki resides, taking on the role of the temple’s night attendant.
